How do I file a private criminal complaint?
Private Criminal Complaint Unit

(215) 686-9863/64Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
This Unit handles misdemeanor offenses only. Victims of felony offenses such as Aggravated Assault or Burglary should make a report with the Police Department.

Reporting Procedures:

Complainant MUST have accused's full name and address (home or work).

You Should Know:
The Private Criminal Complaint (PCC) Unit has the same burden of proof as the police, so the complainant must be a witness or have a witness to the crime. 
If a customer's private criminal complaint is approved for prosecution, they will file it with the Municipal Court upon payment of a $39.10 fee.  They will receive a court date in the Criminal Justice Center in approximately four weeks.  No additional witnesses or evidence are necessary at the first listing.
